Moving Liability Coverage

Road Warrior Moving and Storage provides excellent service when it comes to your move. We do "go the extra mile" for our customers with our highly trained crews and quality equipment. We have a very low record of damage and claims but every now and then accidents can happen. When accidents happen, we provide some options to help cover your belongings on your move day. Be advised that not all home owner insurance policies cover your belongings while in transit. It is best to check with your insurance provider before the day of your move.

A selection must be made prior to your move day.

Local Moving Liability

Option 1. Released Value

Road Warrior has a maximum liability under state law for loss and damage to your property of $0.60 per pound per article up to $2,000.00. There is no additional cost for this option and you can increase this liability for loss and damage by paying extra valuation charges.

A 10 pound table is damaged or lost. The maximum you would be entitled to is $6.00 for that Item.

Option 2. Full Replacement Valuation

This option covers repairs, replacement, or full reimbursement with no depreciation, minus the $400 deductible. The mover will pay for the full cost of repairs if damage occurs while in Road Warrior's care and custody, up to the dollar amount of valuation selected. If the item cannot be repaired, we will replace it exactly or with a like and kind item if the exact item is no longer available. If the item cannot be repaired or replaced, we will pay you cash based on the current replacement cost pending proof of value, and after the application of the deductible. An Itemized list must be created of all items you choose to cover under this option. Any High Value items must be declared on this list to be covered.

The cost of this option is $14.00 per $1,000 of value per Item with a $400 deductible.

Long Distance Liability

Option 1. Released Value

Road Warrior has a maximum liability under state law for loss and damage to your property of $1.25 per pound per article up to $2,000.00. There is no additional cost for this option and you can increase this liability for loss and damage by paying extra valuation charges.

A 10 pound table is damaged or lost. The maximum you would be entitled to is $12.50 for that Item.

Option 2. Full Replacement Valuation

These options cover repairs, replacement, or full reimbursement with no depreciation, minus the deductible. The mover will pay for the full cost of repairs if damage occurs while in Road Warrior's care and custody, up to the dollar amount of valuation selected. If the item cannot be repaired, we will replace it exactly or with a like and kind item if the exact item is no longer available. If the item cannot be repaired or replaced, we will pay you cash based on the current replacement cost pending proof of value, and after the application of the deductible. There are three options available;

$12.00 per $1000.00 of value per Item with a $850.00 deductible
$17.00 per $1000.00 of value per item with a $650.00 deductible
$22.00 per $1000.00 of value per Item with a $350.00 deductible

Storage Liability

Liability if your shipment goes into Road Warrior’s storage.

When storage is provided under the Limited Liability plan, there is no valuation charge and your household goods will be covered at 60 cents per pound per article. When Full Replacement Valuation Protection is selected the same coverage will automatically be applied while goods remain in storage. The cost of this coverage is $4.00 per $1000.00 of value per item, per each month that your goods remain in Road Warrior Moving’s storage

The following items are subject to exclusion from claims:

Items of extraordinary value not listed on the High Value Inventory form.
Lamps, lamp shades, artwork, pictures, mirrors, artificial plants not packed or boxed by Road Warrior Moving
Statues not packed or boxed by Road Warrior Moving
Any marble or glass not crated or boxed by Road Warrior Moving
Items found broken in boxes which have been packed by the Customer
Missing hardware for items not disassembled by Road Warrior Moving
Gold leaf plaster frames and chandeliers not crated by Road Warrior Moving

Pressboard, particleboard, or ready to assemble (RTA) furniture, parts, and/or hardware
Previously damaged or repaired items
Previously damaged or loose veneer
Furniture where original glue has dried
Any small, loose items which are not boxed (keys, remote controls, etc.)
Mechanical condition of audio/visual or electronic equipment
Computers, and battery operated items in transit or storage
Live plants
